Green & Affordable Housing for Markham Ontario
The new 120-unit affordable housing development on Deverill Court in Markham Ontario has incorporated extensive and innovative energy conservation & sustainability features. This is nothing new for DelRidge homes, a company who’s reputation of constructing smart, sustainable buildings keeps growing.
ProQuip is proud to have once again contributed to a DelRidge project. This particular solar LED lighting project includes 11 stand alone solar-led lighting systems and 9 solar-led lighting systems that run off of a solar harvesting system. The solar harvesting system stores energy in a battery bank, making this entire 20-unit system completely off-grid.
Other energy efficient features of this building development include:
Geothermal heating and cooling throughout, insulated concrete form technology throughout to reduce heat loss/gain, and to eliminate the need to heat the underground garage, R60 roof insulation to reduce heat loss/gain through the roof, energy saving windows with low E3 panes, motion sensing lighting where appropriate, CFL and LED lighting, dual flush toilets, low flow shower heads, energy saving appliances, generous natural lighting to reduce the requirement for artificial light.
