Sure spring has sprung all over Ontario and parks are bursting with green leaves but one park is going to be the greenest of them all. That park? Lifesavers Park in the City of Hamilton. The reason it’s so green? As the winner of the City’s Extreme Park Makeover, Lifesavers Park will be home to the very first ProQuip Power Zone brand Park N’ Charge unit.
The Park N’ Charge recharging station runs 100% on solar power so Hamiltonians and park staffers alike will enjoy power that’s as green as the park itself.
Our recently launched Park N’ Charge unit leads the pack when it comes to innovative design and use of solar power. According to our President Sam Tavernese, Park N’ Charge is quite simply, “An incredible, innovative, eco-friendly charging station we’re proud to be bringing to the people of Hamilton, and soon to all municipalities who embrace green parks and cities.”
In a nutshell? Park N’ Charge is 100% solar powered and equipped with three pronged plugs plus USB ports for charging. Once the unit is installed, it will be incredibly convenient and useful for anyone needing power in the park.
As part of our family of ProQuip Power Zone chargers, Park N’ Charge boasts a light carbon footprint, is attractive, safe and rugged.
Park N’ Charge gives municipalities another opportunity to save money by putting solar power to work. The goal? A ripple effect where other solar initiatives get the green light in Ontario’s parks and public buildings.
As a recognized leader and innovator in the rapidly growing solar powered energy sector, our team is always looking for better ways to do things. Our newest idea, the Park N’ Charge is a perfect example of this innovative thinking at work. In addition to working with the City of Hamilton, we’ve been helping municipalities in both Canada and the USA replace traditional lighting with solar powered lighting. There is a growing appetite for green, eco-friendly and budget friendly alternatives to electrical lighting, and we’re proud to lead the way.
ProQuip has been committed to environmental stewardship and lowering costs while assisting businesses with lowering their energy use. We are making a difference in buildings, in business, in cities and now, thanks to Hamilton being so forward thinking – in parks too!
If you happen to be lucky enough to live in the City of Hamilton, check out Lifesavers Park and the province’s first Park N’ Charge station when the makeover is complete. In fact, take a photo and post it on social media…and if your cell phone is dead? Have no worries, you can charge it using the new Park N’ Charge unit while using zero electricity.
